The FHFA House Price Index (HPI) reported a 0.4 percent increase in U.S. house prices in April from the previous month. From April 2018 to April 2019, house prices were up 5.2 percent. For the nine census divisions, seasonally adjusted monthly price changes from March 2019 to April 2019 ranged from -0.6 percent in the West North Central division to +1.2 percent in the Mountain division. The 12-month changes were all positive, ranging from +4.0 percent in the Middle Atlantic division to +7.8 percent in the Mountain division.
