In establishing benchmarks for the single-family home purchase housing goals for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac (the Enterprises), the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA) is required to measure the size of the mortgage market. This FHFA technical report documents the statistical forecast models that the modeling team has developed as part of the process for establishing the affordable housing goal benchmark levels for Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac for 2022 through 2024.
