Marcus Williams has over 15 years of public and private sector experience in risk management and bank regulation. Williams joined FHFA as a Principal Advisor in the Office of the Director in 2023 advising on a range of strategic, operational, and financial matters. Prior to joining FHFA, Williams worked for Truist Securities, where he managed risk and compliance programs within the Corporate and Investment Banking Line of Business. Earlier in his career, Williams held various leadership roles in management consulting and banking with Deloitte & Touche, LLP; Promontory Financial Group, LLC; and United Services Automobile Association (USAA) Federal Savings Bank where he provided clients and company leadership with strategic and tactical subject matter advice for risk-related issues and regulatory inquiries from the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Federal Reserve Board, and the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Williams brings extensive experience in strategic planning and execution, risk management, operational excellence, and program management. Williams is a United States Air Force Veteran and holds a B.S. in Finance and Insurance from Old Dominion University.
