This idea comes across as a good concept however the additional costs of inspections on manufactured housing and the inability to split multiunit lending into individual units may nullify a lot of the intended benefits of lower cost housing on low income families having trouble saving. A lower mortgage payment is not important if the cost of the transaction itself is too high for many low income families. It also seems like a bandage on the wound of wall street investment firms purchasing entire residential neighborhoods above asking price to rent out.
